Happy Halloween

This is an emblem that I designed for my cousin's halloween costume. Unless you've been under a rock for the last six months, you'll understand what it means.

SAVE THE CHINCHILLAS!

Last week I got a email from a woman named Meg from New Jersey who rescues chinchillas and other small wildlife creatures. She had seen my chinchilla illustration and asked me to draw some designs for their website they could use for stickers and such. I've done two for her so far and here they are. You can check our Meg's website at www.Animalwhispers.bravehost.com and www.southmountainwildlife.org (lots of cute pics on this one)

IMMORTALIZED

A few friends and I got a nice shout-out in the lastest issue of BATMAN CONFIDENTIAL, written by my pals Tony Bedard and the super-talented Rags Morales. In the issue, Batman and Nightwing try to figure out the identity of the villain known as the Wrath. They know he's a orphan, but which one?
Well, it sure ain't me, Jorge, Tom or Jesse, who all worked with Tony and Rags at Valiant Comics back in the day! I think it's that Caldwell guy.
Looks just like me, too! Batman Confidential #16 is on sale now!

My Cousins

This picture was taken about seven or eight years ago, I think. We took some standard family photos but then got a chance to get a little silly. Clockwise from the top left there's Monica, Me, Krystal, Tony, LeKecia, Adrianna and Tiffany. So proud of you all and love ya!

KUBERT DAYS

This was an assignment I did in my third year at the Kubert school (in 1991, I think). We were to take two pages of comic book scrip and pencil, ink and letter the pages. I picked Swamp Thing #26, written by Alan Moore. I'm a huge Alan Moore fan and figured this would be my only chance to kinda work with him. If you haven't read his Swamp Thing issues you're missing out on some of the best comics ever written. Looking back on these pages, I like some of the line-work, the page layout and the moodiness, but the anatomy is stiff. By this time, I had realized that I was much stronger using a more cartoonier style, but this was a fun challenge and one of the few Kubert assignment that I look back on and still kinda like. Click if you want to see it bigger.

LOVE

A few weeks before Christmas, I did a storyboard for PSYOP for Microsoft Zune. It's a Valentine's Day theme and it's cute and gross at the same time...Click the play button to watch the animatic.

The finished version is out, and it's really cool! You can check it out at: www.psyop.tv/happyvalentinesday

KND Sunday Comic Strips

Back in my Codename: Kids Next Door days, I worked on a series of KND Sunday comics strip pages that were to appear in a European kids magazine. I have no idea if they ever did, but I was pretty happy with the twenty comics I produced and want to show them off. Most are plotted by Mr. Warburton and scripted by me, with inks by Rob "Iguana" Smith. The first two strips are colored by Mike Cavallero and the third by Erin Finnegen.

Operation: C.H.I.N.A. Pt.1

Here we go again, another 8-page Codename: Kids Next Door adventure for DC Comics' ACTION PACK. I'm felling a little rusty, but these pages will do. The story picks up after page four, so hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things by then. I'm just happy I was able to knock out two pages this week...

VALIANT YEARS Pt.3

Another book I colored during my early years at Valiant was The SECOND LIFE of DR. MIRAGE, written by Bob Layton and pencilled by Bernard Chang. I only colored the first 5 issues (interiors), because I was doing more and more writing for the company at the time. I'll get to that soon.
