KUBERT DAYS


From 1988 to 1991 I attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Grapic Art in Dover, New Jersey. It was a great experience and I would not be where I am today if I didn't go. I learned a lot and made many close friends there that I still have to this day.

Our first assignment was to do a one-page comic about our first day at the Kubert School, and here's mine. The guy in the loincloth is Tor, the school's mascot, and the soilder is Sgt. Rock; both creations of Joe Kubert. The grade I got was a B-/C and my teacher, Mike Chen's comments were, "Panels #4 and #5 confusing w/o some more detail. Overall sequence could benefit from more detail. Not bad, though." I was on my way...
